What I Wear-Whiny Pants (Er...Skirt...)

I'm Wearing: Brown Shirt-Thrifted, Skirt-Thrifted, Shoes-Forever 21
So I didn't realize that this skirt was so short, till I was looking at the pictures! Hmm....I'll have to see about fixing that....
God has really been convicting me lately that I am way too whiny! He's blessed me with so much, yet I'm constantly finding things to whine about! I'm blessed to have so much when I know that other people don't. I'm not necessarily whining about "stuff" so much as circumstances and people. Why is so-and-so rude? Why can't I just say what I'm thinking instead of being polite? Why am I going through this? I'll be completely honest here, sometimes life stinks. I don't know how people who don't believe in God and Heaven can even live right now! Sometimes the only thing to keep you going, is the realization that this world is as close to Hell as I'm getting. I've been trying really hard lately to be content where I am, but it's just that, hard. Then I realized, I've been trying to be content and happy in and of my own self-not even asking God for help. It's a constant battle for me to let God have control, I want to control everything down to the tiniest detail. But that doesn't work! Life is a surprise every few minutes, sometimes good, sometimes bad. I just need to remember to trust that God knows what He's doing, why He's taking me through different circumstances. It's not because He enjoys seeing me suffer, He is a God of love. But my relationship with Him will never grow if it isn't stretched and tested. So I guess I'm sharing this for everyone reading this: You're not alone-cling to God and trust Him. Life won't always be like this and you're going through this for a purpose. You're a loved child of God! Also remember that you're blessed, there's always something to be thankful for! ALWAYS. Even if it's just for the breath in your lungs or the hair on your head.

  1. For my standard that skirt is not too short-you just have to be careful, but since you want it longer (I do have some things that need to be lengthened myself)-I would do it from the top-by adding a yoke, so that you don't change the lovely pleated hemline. Just a thought. I need to add a wide ribbon band to some of my dresses-I have been to lazy and lax-I knew BEFORE I wore them that they were too short-naughty me.

  2. I love the color of your skirt! It looks great! And I personally don't think it's too short, especially with the leggings you're wearing underneath. It's perfect!!! :)

    Blessings!

  3. I love those colors together and I don't think the skirt is too short it looks very appropriate!
I like what you said about God...it's true he blesses us but tests us but the tests are what bring us closer...

Thanks for stopping by my blog and showing love. Your kind words made my day!

  4. Cute! Love that skirt! I don't think it looks too short, but then, that's just my personal standard (2-3 inches above the knee is as high as I'll go...so long as it's at least an inch below my fingertips!).

I whine a lot about stuff like that too...at least inwardly, and often out loud to my family and friends! I've gotten to the point where I'm better at accepting things as they are and moving on, though...dwelling on what's bad about like doesn't make it better!(; "Cast all thy cares upon Him, for He careth for you."(:

  5. Hi Natasha - it's Uncle David. Just read your latest post and it's spot on. We DO have so much and it's all about perspective and keeping a focus on what the Lord is doing, even when {maybe especially when} we are uncomfortable, sad, discouraged or just don't like the way life is moving. I too struggle with wanting life to go a certain way and wanting to control the details. I think it's a good thing, a God designed thing and yet when we take control of "the ship" we are ousting God from his Lordship in our lives. When I have a good perspective I think of life as a managership and now ownership. HE owns our lives, yet we have the responsibilities.

BTW, Philippians 4:8 listed below is an AWESOME verse. Hard to do, but so worth it.

  6. Lol, random, but I just remembered what I said about the "one inch below my fingertips" being ok for a skirt...my arms may be long, but they're not that long! :P with that standard, I'd be able to wear just about any modern skirt! I just wanted to take back what I said in case you thought I was some kind of nut! :P I was just looking at where my fingers hit on my legs, and I remembered what I said, and I was like, Whoa! No way! I guess I always envision myself with ape-like arms?

Anyway! Just nit-picking my own comments again...don't mind me! XP

  7. You look great! And yes, sometimes we tend to whine about things that aren't really that bad, but God is good and He only gives us what's best for us.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  9. I don't think the skirt is short at all! I love the color and pleats too. I know I have to work on whining. I have so much to be thankful for too and it seems I forget that way too quickly!
