It's all over the news and I'm pretty sure everyone's heard about it-the Colorado shooting. Perhaps I'm the only one who feels this way, but it doesn't seem quite real to me. I have a hard time when I read the headlines on AOL front page-it's just a title to me. I didn't know anyone involved in the shooting, thus selfishly, I didn't really feel anything when I read that 12 people died. Until this morning when I read about a guy named Alex who was killed in the Colorado shooting. He died protecting his girlfriend. I didn't know him, but he became real to me through the post I read. He was a real person, with real family and lived and breathed, just like me. I don't know why this event had to happen, what I do know is that it's a good reminder to me that life is short, and can be taken away in an instant. That's why it's so important to know where you're going when you die, you never know when it might happen. To always remember to tell the people in your lives that you love them (verbally and through actions). Please know that I'm praying for all the families involved in the shooting, my sincerest condolences to anyone who lost family/friend/sister/brother/mother/father in the shooting. Thank you to the true heroes like Alex-the world needs more of you.

ReplyDeleteIt's such a terribly tragic thing. It didn't seem very real to me either until I watched a FOX news video on the victims of the shooting. It brought tears to my eyes seeing the faces of those whose lives had been lost, especially hearing about the not one, but THREE men who died to protect their girlfriends, and then the others who helped the wounded. There were a lot of heroes that night, in the midst of all the tragedy.

I'm sure you have probable seen these but if not you are missing out. We also really like the Christy series in fact as I type this I can hear it playing in the background. ReplyDeleteI love your outfit! And i am so glad you posted about the Colorado shooting. This really opened my eyes to the importance of being aware of these sort of things. It inspired me to really talk about things like this and shoot up more prayers for these families.

The story of the shooting really broke my heart. So many innocent lives! It is such a horrible world these days. Love your outfit (on to a happier point!!) the lace crop top is beautiful!!
