My goodness! I'm so behind! I actually wore this outfit Sunday! I chose something cute, yet still casual. I paired this skirt with leggings, since on it's own, it's quite short. The black cami pulls everything together and matches nicely.
We actually had church up at our house in the mountains this week! A nice change up and good to be in the fresh air. We had three baptisms, including my younger sister Patience! Afterward we had a potluck/BBQ. It was fun, but a very long day!
I'm so sad to see the long days of Summer winding down! Seems like Summer just started, yet it will be over in but a few short weeks.
After all your sweet, encouraging comments on my last post, I've decided to try to do a monthly fitness/nutrition post! If I get a big response, I might try to do it a couple times a month. So...my next question! What subject would you like me to write on? For instance, "healthy snacks" "exercises you can do for free" etc. I do plan on doing a post on what I wear while exercising.
So, what are you waiting for?
Start thinking of fitness/nutrition posts-leave me a comment with your suggestion!
Soooooooooo pretty!!!

Cute outfit! Though this would personally would be bending my own standards, it looks very nice! I love cameos! :)
ReplyDeleteAs for the fitness post, it wold be fun to see what different things you do and for how long. And it will be great to see what you wear while exercising too! thanks!
That's a great way of making a not-so-modest skirt modest! I like the way you made your outfit look dressy, while still keeping it casual.
ReplyDeleteA monthly fitness/nutrition post sounds like a great idea! Hmm, maybe you should write about your favorite workouts. I've been wanting some inspiration. :) Although I exercise daily, I tend to get bored of the same workouts.
Hope you have a great day!
God bless,

I love the skirt! You styled it very nicely to keep it modest. It looks beautiful on you! For me personally, I would probably have paired it with a brighter color. I love wearing black and white with bright pink or yellow or any color, really. :)
ReplyDeleteKeep it up!

I do this combination a whole lot! I know some people don't consider this very modest, but if you make efforts to wear something underneath a short skirt, then that should count for something. I don't know if you notice, but my husband's "rule" for chests is covering up to the collar bone. I don't judge anyone for not covering that area up. It's just one of those things that I do for my husband, because I love and trust him. He doesn't like showing knees either, and I have been very relaxed on that sadly, because although I have knee length skirts, they ride up when I move around. I'll get better somehow. I think up to the knees is fine, but of course covering them is always better. :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, to answer your question about the name change again:
I was thinking about the name change a lot yesterday. I decided to have the logo be “ÀLAMODEST,” and keep its original pronunciation as “a la modest.”That way, the name will be more inviting and intriguing without putting people off right away (ones that do NOT like modesty are the people we do want to attract the most, in a way). Then when they land on my blog, they'll realize what the name signifies AFTER the fact they've already been drawn in to it. I know it's a bit sneaky, but I see the logic of why some churches do the same thing with their names and programs. I used to not like that, because it's as if they're ashamed of what they stand for. I realize that it's the opposite. I realize that they're trying to rope the people in who would not have otherwise entered a church that somehow made them feel like they need to be holy first before they enter a church. Churches are there for lost souls as well.
I love wearing leggings and even skinny jeans under shorter dresses and skirts! Then I get the fun of wearing a skirt, and I still feel completely comfortable!
