Short Bio: I'm nineteen, almost twenty. A homeschool graduate (been homeschooled K-12). I have a love for doing what God wants me to do. I also love everything old-fashion! I have three sisters and one brother, I'm the oldest. Daily I try to dress modestly, but in a feminine vintage, modern way. :^) And in all that I do I hope to glorify God!
Natasha:What are some hobbies, or activities you enjoy?
Ashley: I enjoy sewing, watercolor painting, cross stitch, embroidery, studying His-story (history), reading, baking, sports, scrapbooking, card making, music, just about everything crafty. :)
Natasha:Why do you think modesty so important ?
Ashley: How we dress and act can effect how people look at us. Our dress and actions reflect our worldview, people learn a lot from them these two things, besides talking to us. How do you want people to look at you? Are you giving people a good first impression? Another thing to consider, would you feel comfortable meeting your future husband or Lord Jesus Christ in the outfit you are wearing?
Natasha:What would you tell a young lady wishing to dress more modestly?
Ashley: To talk to her parents and find out what they consider to be modest. Ask your dad and brother(s) what they think is modest, as they can give you a good opinion. And to try not to copy every trend that comes along, but to be true to who she is deep down.
Natasha:How did you first "discover" modesty?
Ashley: I've grown up dressing modest with my parents teaching. That I've keep true to it all my life.
Natasha:Is there someone in your life whom you look up to as a "model" for modesty?
Ashley: Yes. I have some older friends who I look up to in our church. I've even use to copy one of the girls hairstyle. :P Another one is my Mom.
Natasha:How did you find out about What I Wear, What I Do And Why I Did It?
Ashley: It was through the Sense & Sensibility board, I do believe.
Natasha:Is there anything you believe would make my blog better?
Ashley: More contest. ;)
Natasha:Can you tell us a little about your blog and what you write about there?
Ashley: On Bramblewood Fashion I promote just being yourself through sewing and dressing modestly. I post on my sewing projects, pattern reviews, any great modest fashion finds, and daily (at least I try Monday - Friday) "What I'm Wearing" posts.
Natasha:If their was one thing you could tell every young lady in the world, what would that be?
Ashley: Dressing modestly does pay off. You will receive complements from complete strangers while out shopping. Once when I was out grocery shopping with my family, an elderly lady came up to us girls and said, "You all look so nice in your skirts." So there are people out there who love girls dressing modestly. :)
