Narnia's Wardrobe: Susan

The Christian Fashionistas are having a Narnia event! Join with us in the fun! (GO HERE to enter)
I missed day one due to a totally awesome two day concert I attented! (More on that later). I decided to do a series of post on Susan's outfits throughout both of the Narnia movies. Today's outfit was from Prince Caspian, featuring her "war" outfit.

If you've seen the movie perhaps you remeber this outfit. Maybe not! But I'm always enthralled by the outfits in the movies. I'll sit their and take apart hairstyles to re-do them for my hair! I even copyed an Emma hairstyle (from the BBC Jane Austen Emma). I seriously have some problems! I was totally born in the wrong century! Hmm....perhaps I'll start looking through wardrobes for Narnia......

Birthdate: December 16th 1988
Height: 5' 3½"

I'm absolutley obsessed with this outfit! I love the fashionable chain mail! Its not really for protection I don't think, since it only comes to her elbow. I intend on drawing a charcoal sketch of this outfit later, but I don't know if it will happen. I will try to get it done as soon as I get off of here! I'm also planning a few other sketches but we'll see....

The Nativity Story-The Movie

I thought this would be a good time to tell you about a must see movie. The Nativity Story, starring Keisha Castle-Hughes as Mary and Oscar Isaac as Joesph.

Honestly, I know this sounds awful, but I had become "numb" to the CHRISTmas story! I'm sure you've done this too. You read it every year, and everything becomes "normal." The thing that got me the most was her pregnancy. Reading the story, its like...."yeah, yeah, yeah, she gave birth to a Son concieved of the Holy Spirit, I know that!" The movie helped me to see how hard that must have been! Trying to convince her parents that she hadn't been with anyone, or Joseph for that matter! And how ridiculous it must have sounded, yet it was true! Can you imagine how scary that must have been for her? She was around 14-16 I believe, she had to leave her home, her family, everything. And Joesph, he didn't really have a choice in all this! Did you know that the sin of having physical intimacy before marriage  was death by stoning? Yeah, think that over for a bit!
I reccomend this movie to anyone who has "normalized" the birth story. Its a great movie, the filming is great too! Let me know if you do see it, what you think of it.

Luke 1:46-55- The song of Mary

"My soul magnifies the Lord
and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior,
for he has regarded
the lowly state of his maidservant.
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
For He who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is His name.
And His mercy is on those who fear Him,
from generation to generation.
He shown strength with his arm;
He has scattered the proud in the imagintaion of their hearts.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
And exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich He has sent away empty.
He has helped his servant Israel,
remembrance of His mercy,
As He spoke to our fathers,
To Abraham and his seed forever."
