What I Wear- "Wow! I finally got an outfit posted!"

I'm wearing: Pink Herbergers Cardigan, Thrifted Maurices Shirt, Thrifted Peasant Style Skirt.
Hello, stranger! I have to apologize for falling off the face of the earth (or so it must seem to you!). Since it's Winters, I've been staying at home because of school. So I guess it's mental, but I haven't been able to put together a decent outfit in quite some time! My outfits lately have consisted of either sweats and a tee shirt, or Sunday outfits-Sunday outfits require rushing out the door with no time for pictures. So am I promising to post an outfit every day for the next week? mskfdndgknd....*scrambling* Oh! Sorry! I had to pick myself up off the floor from laughing so hard. *Chuckles* Yeah, no promises like that in my future. However, I will try to post more often-but not every day.

How was your Christmas? Mine was a bit unusual. Since Christmas was on a Sunday, we opened gifts  Christmas Eve. Uneventful, very little drama and lots of fun! It's been a tradition in our family to go to a movie on Christmas day (or around Christmas depending on when the movie comes out). This year we went to Tintin. It was fairly good, although the computer animation was amazing! There was several instances where I found myself thinking they were real people!

Since New Years Eve is today (Saturday) we celebrated last night, instead of staying up late the night before church. Celebrating translates into: junk food-coming-out-our-ears-till-we-sit-around-on-the-couches-feeling-disgusting. Seriously? Why do I DO THAT! Anyway, we had a nutritious brunch today-whole wheat pancakes sweetened with honey (made by yours truly), fruit salad (patience made), breakfast potatoes and turkey with mushrooms (mom made). We're trying to eat healthier in small bursts-adding more fruits and vegetables to begin with. So this pretty much sums up what you've missed! : )

What I Wear- How To Wear Bold Colored Tights

"Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman without discretion."
                                                                                              Proverbs 11:22

Hey everyone! Well Thanksgiving is over, and on toward CHRISTmas! I can't believe that its nearly December!
(A Reminder: The BOGO 50% on Demures ends Dec 1!)
I've been strangely absent from Blog world for a few reasons, not the least being that I'm very uninspired! My clothes have been very boring lately, and my poor readers have received the brunt of it! Basically, I put my hair in a ponytail and slip a shirt and blue jean skirt on and call it a day! While that isn't awful in and of itself, seeing that outfit on someones blog over, and over, and over, and over, is quite maddening! Plus very uninspiring for my readers as well! But I don't think that I'm the only one-nobody else is blogging outfits either!- and yes, I'm blaming shifting! Ha! Ha! Anyways...today's outfit isn't anything special. Just a laid back casual outfit. I did have my Mary Janes out, but they dissapeard *spooky music* So these will have to do. Just my regular Payless fashion!

What I Wear-
Long sleeve shirt- Wal Mart $5
Skirt- Thrifted Maurices $3.99
Blue Colored Tights- Herbegers $2
Shoes-Payless $??
Necklace-Claires $1

QUESTION: HOW DO YOU WEAR BOLD TIGHTS? HOW WAS YOUR THANKSGIVING?

The Nativity Story-The Movie

8 comments:

I thought this would be a good time to tell you about a must see movie. The Nativity Story, starring Keisha Castle-Hughes as Mary and Oscar Isaac as Joesph.

Honestly, I know this sounds awful, but I had become "numb" to the CHRISTmas story! I'm sure you've done this too. You read it every year, and everything becomes "normal." The thing that got me the most was her pregnancy. Reading the story, its like...."yeah, yeah, yeah, she gave birth to a Son concieved of the Holy Spirit, I know that!" The movie helped me to see how hard that must have been! Trying to convince her parents that she hadn't been with anyone, or Joseph for that matter! And how ridiculous it must have sounded, yet it was true! Can you imagine how scary that must have been for her? She was around 14-16 I believe, she had to leave her home, her family, everything. And Joesph, he didn't really have a choice in all this! Did you know that the sin of having physical intimacy before marriage  was death by stoning? Yeah, think that over for a bit!
I reccomend this movie to anyone who has "normalized" the birth story. Its a great movie, the filming is great too! Let me know if you do see it, what you think of it.

Luke 1:46-55- The song of Mary

"My soul magnifies the Lord
and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior,
for he has regarded
the lowly state of his maidservant.
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
For He who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is His name.
And His mercy is on those who fear Him,
from generation to generation.
He shown strength with his arm;
He has scattered the proud in the imagintaion of their hearts.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
And exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich He has sent away empty.
He has helped his servant Israel,
remembrance of His mercy,
As He spoke to our fathers,
To Abraham and his seed forever."
