What I Wear- "Wow! I finally got an outfit posted!"

7 comments:
I'm wearing: Pink Herbergers Cardigan, Thrifted Maurices Shirt, Thrifted Peasant Style Skirt.
Hello, stranger! I have to apologize for falling off the face of the earth (or so it must seem to you!). Since it's Winters, I've been staying at home because of school. So I guess it's mental, but I haven't been able to put together a decent outfit in quite some time! My outfits lately have consisted of either sweats and a tee shirt, or Sunday outfits-Sunday outfits require rushing out the door with no time for pictures. So am I promising to post an outfit every day for the next week? mskfdndgknd....*scrambling* Oh! Sorry! I had to pick myself up off the floor from laughing so hard. *Chuckles* Yeah, no promises like that in my future. However, I will try to post more often-but not every day.

How was your Christmas? Mine was a bit unusual. Since Christmas was on a Sunday, we opened gifts  Christmas Eve. Uneventful, very little drama and lots of fun! It's been a tradition in our family to go to a movie on Christmas day (or around Christmas depending on when the movie comes out). This year we went to Tintin. It was fairly good, although the computer animation was amazing! There was several instances where I found myself thinking they were real people!

Since New Years Eve is today (Saturday) we celebrated last night, instead of staying up late the night before church. Celebrating translates into: junk food-coming-out-our-ears-till-we-sit-around-on-the-couches-feeling-disgusting. Seriously? Why do I DO THAT! Anyway, we had a nutritious brunch today-whole wheat pancakes sweetened with honey (made by yours truly), fruit salad (patience made), breakfast potatoes and turkey with mushrooms (mom made). We're trying to eat healthier in small bursts-adding more fruits and vegetables to begin with. So this pretty much sums up what you've missed! : )

How was your Christmas?

What I Wear- Feminine Bomber Jacket & The Heart

1 comment:
The heart is an important part of us. So many times we let thoughts or feelings into our hearts, ultimately it can destroy us! The heart can decimate our character, it can control our actions if we let it.

The Bible says:
  • "Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life." Proverbs 4:23
  • "As in water face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects the man." Proverbs 27:19
  • "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he...." Proverbs 23:7
It's like a chain reaction in your mind. You let one thing in, a whole host of other things come with it. I've been learning about Theorms in my Geometry. Using deductive reasoning, you're assigned to complete the direct proof.
Theorm: If you let that thought of anger in your heart, you will kill someone.
If you let that thought of anger in your heart, then the anger will eat you up inside.
If you let the anger eat you up inside, then your going to let that anger out.
If you let that anger out, then you might lose your temper and not think.
If you lose your temper and don't think, then you will kill someone.
Far fetched? No! Murder starts with a tiny thought, a bit of anger. If someone gets angry, does that mean they're for sure going to kill someone? No. But if you let that feeling of anger stay, let it escalate in your mind, it can lead to murder. bitterness is the same way. At first it can start with you just being irritated with someone, till it finally turns into complete and utter bitterness. Many people will focus on physical purity, but not on emotional purity. Emotional purity is more important in my opinion! Adultery starts with a thought in your heart.

So what's the answer? You just don't think anymore? No! Of course not! Guard your heart. Give every thought to God. I think almost every impure, evil thought we have is identified immediately. It's what we do with those thoughts, how we handle them that matters. As humans we let you hearts carry us away, till God is no longer in control, our hearts are. Try memorizing a Bible verse about the topic your struggling with. If it's anger, find a Bible verse about anger. Repeat the Bible verse in your mind, and ask the Lord to help you. He most certainly will!
Now that I've "preached" at you *GRIN*. I'll share a little about my outfit. First of all, I loved this dress the moment I saw it. My mom did not however...but I convinced her to buy it. And I'm so glad I did! It reminds me of a 40's dress! Speaking of thoughts in your heart, this jacket has a little story behind it. I've been drooling over this jacket at Herbergers for a couple of months. However the $78 price tag was a damper. I could never pay that much for a leather jacket. However, the jacket went on sale last weekend for $32! Which was too much to ask my mom to pay, so I bought it with my own money. The story isn't over...I had a moral dilemma at the cash register. I picked up a scarf along with the jacket (I didn't buy it after all). Which was on sale for $14. Well... the lady rang the scarf in TWICE, and didn't ring the jacket in at all. Okay, two choices. I could be deceitful and pay $28 for a $32 jacket and a $14 scarf. Or I could tell the lady that she didn't ring the jacket in, and rang the $14 scarf in twice. Well, I chose to tell the lady. I know that I wouldn't have felt right about paying that for my jacket, so though it hurt, I did tell the lady. And she corrected it. So there's a prime example of your heart! I could have went with my heart, and cheated the store out of it's $18. But I didn't, I chose God's way instead. And I can tell you have no regrets!
I'm wearing:
Pink Flora 40's Style 80's thrifted dress ($4) Leather fur collar Bomber Jacket Herbergers ($32)
Ps: Forgive the messy bangs!

What I Wear- Easter 50's/60's Style!

9 comments:

I wore this outfit yesterday-Easter. Originally, the skirt was supposed to be a dress, but the bodice got messed up. It was going to have buttons down the front of the bodice, but the fabrice was so thin that it frayed too much before I got fray check on. So I settled for a skirt instead. I actually like how the outfit came out! It's sort of 50's/60's style. And yes, I'm wearing a petticoat. Weird, right? I don't really care if it is, I like the way it looks. Although it does have a slight drawback, it's very hard to sit in! Have you ever seen those drawings in books of ladies in hoopskirts that are lying on the ground, their hoop skirt up in the air? Petticoats are similair. I had to be careful that I didn't sit down too fast. So lady like sitting is important!

It was a beauitful day yesterday! Upper 60's in fact! I've decided that Montana people have a huge advantage over the warmer states: we enjoy the nice weather when it comes around! Other states take the sunshine for granted, or it gets so hot all they do is stay inside all day.
Saturday was also gorgeous and my dad, siblings and I went on a walk down our road. Fresh air rocks! I love going on walks up and down our road. The silence is soothing, and their aren't any cars rushing past! (a few anyway)

I've been working on a few more drawings! (Which you can view HERE) One of a blog reader, and a friend at church. I think both came out well. I also finished a baby drawing (yes another!) this time of Asian Twins.

I think my curls turned out well! I just used those foam curlers. You can get them at the dollar store I believe.

I'm wearing: 50's Vintage Style Sweater From Wal Mart ($7) Ghingahm Skirt Made By Me ($1 a yard!) Petticoat from Bonanza (kind of like Etsy) ($20) Low Heeled Mary Janes 6pm ($30)

What I Wear- Pink ♥ Fall Colors

Hey everyone, well today's post has taken me awhile to get up! I took the photos this morning, but haven't had time since! I had to clean the bathroom, do the dishwasher, and I helped with Dinner! Melissa and I cooked biscuits and gravy, hasbrowns and  turkey sausauge. Want a confession? I hate those popping biscuit cans! I'm not joking, they scare me to death! I always have someone else do them for me! So if I'm 80 and in my own house, I'll still be calling my brother to open the cans for me! LOL! Yeah, I know, sad...I can't help it! They've scared me ever since I was a little girl! Today's outfit is my first "Fall". It was a bit chilly outside today, too cold for flip flops *sniff* *sniff* waaaa....I really hate wearing shoes! I would run around barefoot 24/7 if I was allowed to!

What I Wear-Modest Beach Girl

Hey everyone! Sheesh! Today has been quite long! I've been running like a chicken with its head cut off! LOL! And in case your wondering, yes! A chicken can walk with its head cut off (for awhile!)! We have 60+ people coming to our house for a potluck/church thing. So I'm going to be pretty busy from here on! My Grandparents should be in sometime soon, and my brother is getting baptized on Sunday! Which is awesome! I keep telling him he doesn't need a heater in the water ; ) My baptism was in September! Let me tell you, the water was COLD! I actually swallowed some since it was so cold, I hit the water and gasped! Not fun! Plus I was only 11, and what can you expect?! I know that first picture is kind of crazy, but I actually like it! My ten year old sister has started taking the pictures for me. I put the flash on the quick setting, so we go out and she clicks and I move around! It actually works out well! I get fifty thousand pictures to choose from in less than three minutes! (Okay, maybe five!)
I just got done talking to my friend-who's helping me judge-and we have some picked out! *shhhhhh!* So be on the lookout for the winner! I will be emailing them, so check your inbox in the next few days!
I actually made this necklace! Its called macrame (I gave away one for my last fashion show) and its super fun! I went for sort of a "modest beach girl" style today! It has been getting up there ( 80 deg. F!) And I decided to put my hair up. I really don't enjoy long hair in the Summer time! It gets incredibly hot and sweaty! But leaving it wet helps! (which I didn't do, thus the hair up!)

"Shout It!" Modest Online Fashion Show Day: 2

Hey everyone! Today's the second day of the fashion show! I've really enjoyed looking at all your outfits! I'm so encouraged by the fact that 18 girls out there are trying to dress in a modest fashionable way! I know God is looking down and smiling on you girls! And think about the countless other modest fashion blogs there are! I believe modesty is on the rise! I know that people say the fashion industry dictates what we wear, and whats "fashionable". But I don't believe that's true! WE make things fashionable! WE buy the clothes! WE choose to dress modestly, or not. In case you didn't know it, layering came and went last Summer, we were still wearing, and now its back! Hmm...funny! I have to say that this dress was the best buy I've ever made! It was on sale for-get this!- $2.99!!!!! At that price, you can wear it twice and donate it to a thrift store! (Okay, maybe not!) But anyways, I love it! As always, I love your guy's input. If you have a suggestion for any outfit, or a comment (you know I love 'em!) Please say so! Your comments are what I gauge how popular something is, if you comment more on the "modest-fied" articles, I write more of them! So leave comments on posts you like!
I hope your all having fun this week!

What I Wear- Sparkle, Sparkle Shine!

Hey everyone! So today's title might seem odd, but it's what came to mind when I put the pictures up! So thus, it is deemed the "Sparkle, Sparkle, Shine!" Outfit! (Yes, we all know I'm weird, there is no reason to say it!) I feel oddly awkward in sleeveless shirt, even though I don't believe they are actually "im-modest" per-say.  I just feel bare for some reason... hmmm. Today's weather is absolutely gorgeous! A light breeze, and sun! Perfect! I'm having a very hard time posing, so this is what you get! Seriously, I'm totally obsessed with this white skirt! It fits perfectly, and its a functional color!
