What I Wear-Avonlea Gloves!

3 comments:

I'm wearing: Scarf-Forever 21-gift, Gloves-gift-from Avonlea set!- Jean Jacket-borrowed from my sister Patience, Dress-Forever21, Pants-thrifted, boots-gojane.com

I got these gloves from my parent's fro Christmas, but the coolest part is that they were worn on the set of Avonlea! Isn't that awesome? So I imagined that Sara Stanley or Felicity King wore them...although in reality it was probably some extra that was on the set for 2.5 seconds. LOL! Fun to imagine anyway! The scarf was also a Christmas present!

It's been sort of a weird year in regards to snow-it hasn't snowed hardly at all! Which actually isn't good, since we need the moisture. The snow hasn't melted off, but it hasn't come down anymore. It's just been cold! Which is okay too, whatevs. I'd have to say that jeans under my dress was an attempt at staying warm without too much bulk. Sometimes leggings or tights just don't cut it! Some other cold weather tips for wearing skirts-
wear 2 pairs of socks (wool is best!)
leg warmers over tights
hats and scarves actually do keep you warm (they're not just for looks!)

What are your cold weather tips for wearing skirts/dresses?

What I Wear-Doctor Who Inspired Wear (Military Style Leather Jacket)

Though I'm running the risk of seeming a bit obsessed with Doctor Who-this jacket is so Martha/Rose! No?
I scored this lovely military inspired leather jacket at a thrift store for $5.99! Unfortunately, I'm finding it a bit hard to style! It's sort of bluish-black-which I think makes it hard to style. How would you style this jacket?
I paired the jacket with a floral dress (also thrifted) as well as black leggings and boots from Go Jane. I also painted my nails with this awesome milk chocolate colored polish I got from (of all places) Walgreens!

What I Wear-Vintage Cape Debut!

I'm Wearing a vintage thrifted cape-$5, Black Herbergers shirt-$10, Old Navy thrifted blue jeans-$5.99, Go Jane boots-29-ish?

It's finally cold enough to wear my vintage cape! I was standing in my closet this morning and remembered I hadn't worn my lovely cape yet! It's surprisingly warm (although I'm not currently wearing it due to the fact that I've been cutting 16 fresh pineapples...). My mom has decided to torture teach me to can for part of my school. After that, super cleaning my room is on the agenda. It's time to pull those poor neglected Winter clothes out from their dusty boxes! It's almost like getting an entirely new wardrobe-with only vague recollections of wearing them. First things first: box up Summer clothes. The problem is, what exactly are Summer clothes?! Winter, I get that: long sleeves, wool, sweaters and hoodies. However, Summer clothes can be converted into Winter clothes super easy. On the other hand, packing them away helps next Summer, when I unpack my "new" clothes! Anyone have clothing guideline suggestions? How do you decide what to pack away?

And I had a huge response to my "how old am I?" post-24 comments! Makes me wonder, where are you usually? hmmmm...lurkers, eh? *GRIN* The answer is: 18! many of you got very close, and some even guessed 18 (by the way, the person who guessed 29 was my sister *rolls eyes*-take my advice and block your sisters from commenting! LOL!
PS: Please forgive the greasy hair! : (

What I Wear-Earth Tones

Hey, guess what I found out?! Life isn't all about me! Shocking, right?  Some things happened this week that made mad, and of course when those things happened I started asking a question I have no right to ask: Why. Why are you doing this, God? Why do I have to go through this? Why do I have to feel alone? And God promptly convicted me through the Bible and Crazy Love By Franics Chan. In Crazy Love, he makes the point of an extra in a movie making a huge deal over himself. He invites all his friends and family to come see "him" in the movie. Except he's just an extra in the movie, not the star. Basic idea is that we're all extras in a movie about God. Why do place ourselves at the center of God's movie? Why on earth do we think we're so important that nothing bad, frustrating or heartbreaking should happen to us?! I don't always understand the trials and frustrations God allows into my life. I don't know that I'll ever understand them completely. What I do understand is that God is amazing, glorious and capable of dealing with all my problems! Nothing is too big for Him, because nothing is bigger than Him. Above all else I'm so grateful, that even though God is so amazing and powerful, He still loves and cares about me. So what did I learn this week? To get my eyes off myself, and focused on God. With my eyes on Him I will never sink, I can walk on water.

"It is he who made the earth by his power, who established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding stretched out the heavens." Jeremiah 10:12

I love the lyrics to a new song I've discovered

by Dara Maclean: "Nothin' You Won't Do"
Cause
There You go
There You go
Doing what You do
Chasing me, lovin' me
You ain't afraid to
Move the universe, just to prove
Yeah, that if I was
The only one
Here on the planet
You would still send Your Son
Cause You couldn't stand it
To see me anywhere but next You
Ain't nothing that You won't do

There's no one like You
Nothing more true
No one loves me like You do

What I Wear- Stripes And Beret + "Healthy" Food Traps

5 comments:
I was able to put together a decent (at least in my opinion) outfit! Lately I've been feeling incredibly uninspired. I go through these phases often, it's all the other fashion blogger's faults! Seriously! You people need to post more! Oh wait...I'm a fashion blogger...and I don't post that often...umm..moving on! I think the best way to put together an outfit is to start with one piece, and go from there. For this outfit, I started with the hat. I then proceeded to add shirt, skirt and etc. Though that worked today, it didn't work the other day. Often I'll stand in my closet trying to find something that matches a certain item, try a billion things on, and only end up frustrated and throwing on my exercise clothes! I also get overheated when I'm frustrated, so I end up feeling like I have a fever by the end of the "ordeal".
You may be wondering about part of my title: + "Healthy" Food Traps. I've been trying to eat healthier lately (unsuccessfully today!) and we decided to have a treat and eat Quiznos for lunch. A healthier option than a hamburger, right? WRONG! Out of curiosity I decided to look up how many calories are in the sandwich I like...as the page loaded my heart beat faster and faster...and I almost threw up when the gigantic numbers came into view! A whopping 1,500 some calories and 81 grams of fat! That's more than half my calories for the day, and an entire days worth of fat grams! How on earth do they even fit that many calories and fat grams into such a small sandwich! What are you supposed to get out my telling you this? Don't assume something is "healthy" or "healthier" until you do the research! Yes, I should know better! I'll do better next time...unless I eat too many of those sandwiches and I'll be dead and it won't matter...
I'm wearing: Royal Azure blue Forever 21 hat, Black eternity scarf ??,Striped repurposed shirt, Royal Azure thrifted skirt, White Vanity leggings, Black Go Jane boots

Vicki was kind enough to draw my portrait! She did a fantastic job, and I especially love the scarf highlights! Great job Vicki, you're very talented!

"Zig Zag Purple" 12 Days Of Modest Fashion Day-8

5 comments:
I'm Wearing: Purple Thrifted Zig-Zag Sweater Dress, Modesty 4 Me Cami, Target Jeggings, Go Jane boots,
Black Ruffle scarf Payless Shoe Source, Black Belt (came with dress).

Today is day eight of the 12 days of modest fashion event! I'm thrilled with the turn out (as many as 14 but only as few as 7!). Fantastic!
I picked this dress up at the thrift store the other day. I really like that it's sweater fabric, yet flattering. Most sweaters don't look very good on me-even though I wear them occasionally. The dress has see-through fabric so I paired it with my Modesty 4 Me cami and jeggings. I'm pleased with this outfit, lately I haven't been very happy with the finished products that come out of my closet. Un-inspired, I suppose.
