Have you ever noticed what kind of clothes most girls and young women wear today? And how magazines tell you what you should wear to be “in style”? What ever happened to being different?

In the world today, it is even more of a struggle to stay modest. The percentage of modest clothing(without having to layer your shirts over and over again) is at a minimal, and keeps getting lower every few years. From v-neck and low-scoop on shirts, to low-rise super skinny jeans. The saying I keep to mind is, “If you don‘t want to sell, then don‘t advertise.” Some girls may not even think why it is that women need to dress more modestly. On the other hand, some do, and that’s why they dress immodestly. Those kinds of girls like to attract the wrong attention, which can cause mankind to sin. Although you probably already have some sense of what it means to dress appropriately and modestly, we live in a fallen world. Therefore, here is a basic rule to keep in mind: Never wear anything you would not want to wear in front of the Lord.

Of course, I’m not telling you to wear frocks and dresses that cover every inch of you. That would be, what I call overdoing it. You can still stay in style, without having to follow the “crowd.” I myself, wear jeans and a t-shirt. Everyday. Its okay to wear shorts, jeans, tank-tops, and t-shirts, I’m all for it! It just depends on whether or not they rank on what level of modesty. Sadly, Hollywood and Madison Avenue often dictate so much of the world’s concepts of a woman’s image. Therefore, it can seem difficult to go against worldly trends and seek beauty in purity.

(Proverbs 31:30) says,
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.”

One thing we have to remember, is that modesty is something we need to stay on track with. Every single day of the year. Not just on those occasions, where you’d feel immodest in front of particular people.

  2. I think long skirts are the best because they do not show your form.

Here are a few comment guidelines:
This is an open discussion, being so, I'm open to other people's opinions! However, please keep the discussion nice and if you'd like to critique something, please do it tactfully! I.E-instead of "I hate that outfit!" putting, "I think the outfit is a bit miss matched, however I like ___."
Your comments are so appreciated-you rock!
