Making your own blog button!

Hey Everyone! I finally figured out how to make a blog button! And I've decided to share this bit of wisdom with you!

So basically to start out, you can use pretty much anything. An image, or just the name of your blog, whichever you prefer!
I used a collage of photos

Put the image on your paint program, I made it about this big:(actual size a bit bigger) Make it about the size of mine or a bit bigger if you like.

Once you've gotten the button to look the way you want it to:
Upload it to Photo Bucket
After you've uploaded it, click on the photo album and go here:

Sorry I can't get the photo any bigger, but your supposed to click generate HTML and IMG code. After you've clicked it, copy and paste the code. I suggest putting it in an empty email so you don't lose it, this is the code you'll paste into the layout for your button! So basically, you have a button! Now, for the HTML for others to take.

Now stay with me! Honestly, its not that hard! Your gonna go HERE now take this:

and do like it says , so like I would put:
my url in the place it says enter website here.
In the place where it says to enter photo HTML code, paste the HTML code you got from photo bucket. And paste it into the website your on, it should look something like this:

Clicke "Encode" ! Now you have your blog button HTML! Go forth and share! Please leave a comment if you get stuck, hopefully I can help you! (Sorry Uncle David if this is confusing! Let me know if you need help!)

  1. Natasha, in response to your comment on my blog: I'm so glad you enjoyed North and South! :-D

Some of our family's favourite costume dramas include:

    Wives and Daughters (1999)
    Pride and Prejudice (1995)
    Pride and Prejudice (2005)
    Sense and Sensibility (1995)
Sense and Sensibility (2008) - there is just one inappropriate scene at the beginning which we usually skip.
Lorna Doone (2000) - a bit of violence in this one, but otherwise fairly clean
    The Inheritance (1997)
    Little Women (1994)
    Pollyanna (2002)
    The Railway Children (2000)
    Ever After (1998)

You've probably already seen some of those, but they're movies that ALL of my family enjoys - even the boys, LOL!

And about Elizabeth Gaskell's novels - yes, they're definitely appropriate for a 15-year-old Christian girl to read! I would especially recommend North and South - it's a great read. Cranford is a bit slower. I haven't read Wives and Daughters yet, but from what I've heard, it's good, too.

  3. Thanks SO much for posting a how-to!!
I was wondering though, how do you show your button on your page, AND your HTML so other people can get it (like you did)? I seem to be having trouble...
    thanx so much!

  4. Siriana, all you've to do is paste the HTML you get from photo bucket, and below that put the HTML that you decoded right below that. Let me know if you need anymore help! Sorry if my post was confusing! :)

Everyone is welcome here and I LOVE hearing from my readers! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! I will try to get back as soon as possible with you if you ask a question, however if you'd like you may also email me at Atkersonfamily@aol.com

Here are a few comment guidelines:
This is an open discussion, being so, I'm open to other people's opinions! However, please keep the discussion nice and if you'd like to critique something, please do it tactfully! I.E-instead of "I hate that outfit!" putting, "I think the outfit is a bit miss matched, however I like ___."
Your comments are so appreciated-you rock!
