Colorado Springs, CO Part 1

My Childhood Home

Fort Collins, CO
Some of you may have wondered where I've been for the past 15 days. I've been on a trip to Colorado Springs, CO for a family reunion! On the way there we stopped by Fort Collins-my childhood town. It was weird for me to see my childhood home, because I remember it, but it's not home. Home is where I live right now. It was kind of like looking at any house, I knew I'd lived in it, but it held nothing for me. I was only eight when we left, so that might have something do with it. I suppose I'm a look ahead, instead of behind kind of person. I enjoy looking at pictures and memories, but I'd rather be living right now.

50th Anniversary
While we were in Colorado Springs, we celebrated my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary! Their real anniversary is in Sept. but we celebrated when we could (almost) all be there.

We had loads of fun trying to find flowers. Apparently florists are a thing of the past! We went to Safeway, but couldn't find exactly what we wanted, and the person that was supposed to be in the flower area wouldn't come over. So we left and went to Wal Mart. Good old Wally World, where we found a bunch of different flowers. I picked them out, and arranged them. I think they turned out well.

Latest addition to the family- sister-in-law Jamey and brother Kendall

I unfortunatley didn't get any photos of it, but my brother Kendall and new sister-in-law took my siblings and I, and cousin Emily to the penny arcade. We had a great time (and by the way, my grip is stronger than both my brother's).

As you can tell so far from this post, it was catch up time for us. We hadn't been back to Colorado in 6 years. So in addition to anniversary party, reunion (pics later in post) we also visited people's work. We got to see my Aunt and Uncle's chocolate shop (Pikes Peak Chocolate) of which I got no photos! : (

 Kendall's Work
We got to visit my brother's work-as well as my Uncle's work. My brother's work is pictured above. The food was superb! If your ever in Colorado Springs, stop by! My mom and I tried the Heart attack. I'm not a sushi fan, but this stuff was really good! Burnt my tongue off, but it was good! So now I can say I had sushi! I also got to eat something I've always wanted to try: fried ice cream. I've never had it, and I've always seen it at restaurants. So I had some at my brother's work (it's called Tempura there). It's like fried cake wrapped around vanilla ice cream, with two scoops of ice cream on the sides. Sorry, I didn't take any pictures of it though. I did get this picture of my sister Patience eating Mochi. It was almost like a frozen pudding with sugar coating.
