I'm Wearing: Black lace tank top-Vanity, Black Shrug-Thrifted, Mint green skirt-Thrifted, shoes-6pm.com
I'm going to call this my "mint brownie" outfit. Why, you ask? I have no idea! : ) Other than that was the first thing that popped into my head when I was thinking of a title (my mind is a scary place..)
I've decided I'm going to grow my bangs out. They've become too much of a hassle-they never seem to stay clean! My forehead is slightly greasy, so this contributes to the greasy hair. I've been thinking of cutting layers in my hair (nothing too drastic). Any thoughts? Anyone cut layers in their hair themselves? Pros, cons of layers? I'm the kind of person who likes to research things to death before I do them! I read one method I think I'll try-you gather all the hair vertically (or upside down) and twist and cut it, then twist the other way and cut-thoughts? At this length my hair starts to look scraggly and unkempt-time for a change! : ) Comment and let me know your thoughts on layered hair!
ohhh! you should get layers :) I think you would look so pretty with layers! Love the skirt, so pretty.

Love the color combo! And mint brownies are the best! :-) I took the plunge into layers a long time ago and was SO glad I did it. It really helped to give some life and bounce to my hair and made it easier to take care of. :-) No advice from me on cutting it though... I got it done at a salon! I don't think I trust myself to do a good job on myself. hehe.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I love the minty skirt
ReplyDeleteI was just about to say how nice your hair looks, hehe. But layers would be really cute! Do you usually cut your own hair? Mine has grown out for about a year now and I want just a very slight trim. My mother usually cuts my hair, but a trim for her is taking off several inches! I am seriously debating trimming my own hair, but I'm scared it might turn out really uneven...any tips?

Mint brownie suits it! The color of the skirt is just awesome
ReplyDeleteOhh layers are the best! My sister does mine- I just sit in a chair and lay my head back so that it's flat and all my hair is hanging behind the chair and she cuts straight across. Works like a charm! Every month or so I'll also just feel like a change and cut some more layers in around my face by looking in the mirror. :P Love how your necklace matches your skirt!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks really nice in those photos!
ReplyDeleteFor me, (my hair's so long I can sit on it!), I had bangs until I was about ten, then I grew them out, and now I have a layered fringe about level with my chin. I've found that works well, as I can either put it up, or leave it down.
But just try new things, it's a lot of fun!
I like layers, but I don't like them too short, especially in the back of my head, because then the back of my head starts to look ratty. I trim my own bangs frequently, but I find trimming layers very challenging and try to leave that to a professional every 4 to 6 months.
ReplyDeleteCutting layers is very easy look it up on youtube. The way we like to do it is to put your hair in a ponytail on top of your head(let me asure you that this looks very cute:))then just cut straight across, you end up with perfect layers!

For layers i used a serrated knife, took my hair in handfuls, held it out away from my head and slid the knife down it. You have to do it a lot to actually see some 'layers' but it really lightened the weight of my hair without looking too drastic.
ReplyDeleteShe is amazing! For me one of the best!
