What I Wear-Fashion Burnout

Finally captured one of the seemingly 100's of butterflies in our yard!

I'm Wearing: Purple Shirt-Thrifted, White Scarf-Vanity, Blue Jean Skirt-Thrifted, Flip Flops-Old Navy
In the spirit of honesty, I feel I must share that I had a horrendous time of getting dressed this morning! I'm having a very hard time fighting the urge to just pull on a pair of shorts and a tee-shirt-and I'm not entirely sure why. Perhaps it's the heat, but I'm all out of inspiration! Every shirt I pulled on fit funny, or they didn't go with that skirt, or that skirt looked weird with this shirt....*collapses on floor* Anyway, I've come to the conclusion that I'm trying way too hard. I'm also going to purge my closet when I get done here. I have way too many things I don't wear, or things that don't fit! I'm also going to try to put together some outfits-hopefully. That last part is probably a fantasy...
I'm also frustrated by the fact that so many of you lovely Blogger ladies seem to effortlessly put on adorable outfits, seemingly every day! Does it come naturally to you, or are there days when you just feel like sitting in your PJs all day? I truly want to post every day, but who wants to see someone wearing shorts and a tee-shirt on her blog every day? So...that's me being honest! I've got fashion burnout....major.

  1. Natasha, you are NOT alone in this! There are days I don't get out of my pj's till mid-afternoon. A t-shirt and gym shorts are sometimes SO much more comfy (especially since I'm home a lot). I really don't think this whole fashion-thing is effortless for other girls; I know I put way to much brain-space into what I'm wearing each day. Sometimes there are piles of tried-on-and-failed clothes on the floor after you try to get dressed in the morning. :) It's okay. Honestly, it's always more about our hearts, not what we're wearing, fashionable or not.

And hey, feel free to post pics of your more casual outfits if you want too! I think we all DO need to be honest, especially since we can make ourselves look so perfect on our blogs!

    God bless!

  2. Natasha, trust me, it is not effortless for me! The main reason I started a fashion blog in the first place is to challenge myself to dress up more otherwise I would do the easy thing and wear jeans and a t-shirt. It is perfectly okay to feel that way! Your beauty shines from within anyways so don't worry if everyday you're not all dressed up. Most people aren't! :)

    Blessings!!!

  3. Cute! I like the outfit combo you settled on!
And I agree with Rachel! There's nothing wrong with dressing more casually--the spirit and honesty of it are what matter.(: maybe you could try dressing up a tee and shorts with a pretty necklace or perhaps a scarf! A touch of accessories can make any outfit shine.(; sometimes just randomly grabbing clothes and creating an outfit can also turn out wonderfully, and reduce the stress of the "Ahhh--What am I going to wear?!!" moments in the morning. On Sunday morning, twenty minutes before church and before I had eaten breakfast, I rushed into my room, grabbed a t-shirt and a maxi, then dressed it up with a scarf and belt. I ended up having just enough time to eat, and I got so many compliments than I usually get with more thought-out outfits! Another thing I sometimes do when I go through my closet is to come up with new outfit combinations and take pictures so I can remember them...and that's kinda fun as well.(:

Just some thoughts! By the way, thanks for your sweet comment on my blog!(:

  4. Ohhhh man! I know how you feel! I've worn the same short denim skirt for at least a few hours every day this week. I change like 3 times a day. :P One thing that motivates me is doing laundry. Sounds weird, but if I have a stack of clean clothes, it makes me ponder each piece a little bit more than if I'm standing on the pile of clothes trying to reach the stuff that's been shoved in the top of the closet because it doesn't fit right.
I'm having the issue of not really having any super different styles-- like, I have three different colors of the same striped shirt that I wear with the same skirt. I'm not sure it's super edifying to anyone else to see that, "oh look! yellow matches that as well as purple!" :P So, yeah. Def understand, but be encouraged- it's just a slump that you can get through. I know you always do. :)

  5. Natasha, you really are not alone. I have many days where I don't know what to wear. I too have days where all I want to wear is comfy clothes, a.k.a sweatpants and a tee shirt. :)

  6. I feel the same way lately. I stand in the front of the closet staring at the clothes for minutes thinking I don't want to wear any of it. I know it's the heat and humidity and has a lot to do with the fact that I don't have many summer clothes and so I'm completely bored with wearing the same ones over and over. But I like this outfit you're wearing. I'd like to find a skirt like that one since my denim skirt is very long.

  7. I feel the same a lot. I feel sometimes I don't have enough clothes but then out of no where I just start throwing on clothes and it works. I have told myself people will get bored seeing me in the same outfit a few times over but that's just reality. I do have days I sit around in pj's and usually I will do pinterest posting or good food finds or something like that.

  8. Considering that I am in shorts and a old tee shirt right now...I won't judge! :) especially now that I am pretty pregnant, my wardrobe has really narrowed and I also feel like I have been wearing the same old things over and over again!! I am sure no one wants to see the same dress with three different belts! Hehe. Don't feel bad, we all get wardrobe slumps and burn outs!!! I love your blog and your style to me is always something interesting fresh and lovely! :)
