What I Wear-Casual Country-ish Outfit

This skirt is a hand-me-down and as soon as I saw it, I could see it with numerous shirts in my closet! I chose to pair it with my navy blue floral shirt from Debs. I'm so behind in my blogging, it's not funny! I have three more outfits I haven't posted yet! Life seems to be flying by like cheetah on steroids! Yes, that was an incredibly horrible example...I could've said something like "a really fast thingy"-would that have been better! LOL! I'm still trying to get caught up after our trip to Albuquerque! I have been fairly productive though! I've managed to get the Quickbooks completely caught up, clean the house, deep clean my room, pull out and organize my Winter hats and such! Not to mention lots of cooking! We discovered some really great peanut butter cookies! Peanut butter cookies are my favorite! So to find a THM version was awesome!

I'm Wearing: Navy blue floral shirt-Debs $5, Skirt-hand me down, tank top-Vanity $10, Flip Flops-Old Navy $1, Necklace-hand me down. Outfit Total-$16!

I'm not going to lie, I'm excited for Fall and Winter to come! I'm ready to pull out cozy sweaters and warm coats! This Summer has been excruciatingly hot and I'm ready to stop sweating already! Regardless, I am trying to enjoy the last bit of warm weather. All this to ask a question! Usually my closet is bursting through the Winter, because I just can't seem to get a system of what I should put away and what I shouldn't together!

So, how do you decide which items to box up and which transition to Fall and Winter apparel? Eagerly awaiting your replies, Natasha.

  1. Very pretty outfit, Natasha. And, since I haven't mentioned it in a while, you look beautiful too! :-)

I face the same dilemma each fall/winter. To help, I pack away all capris/shorts and use that drawer space for sweaters. When it comes to tops, I keep most of them out for layering, but pack those that are more "spring" or "summer" styles than most (though it is still good to keep some of them out for under cardigans!). I don't know if I will ever experience an organized, not-stuffed-to-the-seams cold season though. :-)

Thanks for asking how I am doing. Honestly, just taking life one day at a time. The sharp pain of it is fading to an ache... but it is still an ache that runs to my core, simple because a part of me is no longer here and it is a hurt I know I will never fully "recover" from this side of heaven. Again, just taking life day by day. And I am doing better, overall. Thank you for your prayers!

    God bless!

  2. This is a cute outfit! I especially like the blouse and necklace. :)
I'm new to fashion blogging, so I was wondering if you could check out mine, "Sunday Best and all the Rest" and let me know what you think!

  3. I love today's outfit. Here in FL we don't really have to box anything up. So that means my closet is very crowded! I do sort of move things around and make the "winter" stuff more accessible. We are still 90+ degrees and summer probably won't end for at least 1 to 1 1/2 months. Usually our transition is that we need long sleeve all of a sudden one day in early Nov. I have a number of skirts that just have a summer feel due to lighter color and fabric that I move towards the back of the closet since they just don't seem right in Nov. But honestly, with some layers, I could probably still wear them.

  4. You look so lovely!
Glad you've been able to get so much done; I'm still way behind on cleaning. :-P
    Cute outfit!

  5. I really love this outfit, definitely something I would wear! I have the same problem with transitioning seasons. During summer I just put all my long sleeved tops in our cedar closet, but I could wear everything with a cardigan when its cold! Sorry I can't be much help :)

  6. Cute outfit! I love that top!
I don't box up too much, since I love the challenge of trying to wear my t-shirts and such throughout the fall and winter by layering. It definitely expands my wardrobe! I do tend to box up shorts and capris, though...things I KNOW I won't be wearing in the fall/winter time.

  7. Hi! Well for the question, only my sister and I share a closet now that our remodeling is finally finished. No more having 5 kids in one room/4 dressers! Yay! It has been a huge blessing that us bigger girls no longer have to pack anything up! But, what I do to declutter (I am a big one on not keeping aimless junk and being organized) If I see something at a store that I really like I try to replace that newly found treasure with the 'I barely ever were item'. I kindof keep the less staple pieces moving....And instead of having a bunch of one kind of thing, (this is hard for me, I 'love' every calico button-up that has ever been made;)) try to buy (or make) different styles of your style.See what could work with the piece that you are deciding on...is it goin to be warm enough with..? Also sort out your shirts by length of sleeve, you may find out you have way too much of one type....I try to minimize the amount of my jean skirts also. I guess this was more of how to declutter than what to keep for the next season, but if you have more room you could keep it all out! ;) Depending on your closet you could also keep things in labeled boxes under your hanging rack.....easy to get into...just in case...We live in Mi. so I know all about that! :)
Yikes long 'comment'! :) Hope this helped out some! I know what it is like!

  8. Beautiful outfit, Natasha! You are looking more womanly ever time I see you, and less girlish. :)

Can you please leave it in the comments or post the THM PB cookie recipe? That'd be awesome to have.

  10. For the summer, the only things I pack away are heavy coats and sweaters. In the fall, I just pack my capris and sleeveless shirts. Everything else (skirts, t-shirts, jeans, etc) I wear year-round. :)

  11. Your shirt is so pretty, and so is your necklace! I don't own that much winter appropriate clothing--I'm not a huge fan of sweaters and jackets for months on end--but such is life!
