I'm Back!

2 comments:
Hey everyone! So I'm back from my weekend "vacation"! I didn't take any outfit photos over the weekend, but I did take about 50 pictures of the concert! : ) As this is a fashion blog, I'm only sharing a few photos. If you want to look at the rest, check out my blog for the DownPour Festival. They're in no particular order, just picked a few that turned out well. My favorites were probably JJ Heller, Switchfoot and Tenth Avenue North. Overall it was an amazing and fun weekend! The concert got a bit rowdy a couple times though, my back actually hurts from being pushed (I wasn't expecting it). But it was worth it! I know, contradictory, right?! It was also refreshing to have several guys helping keep people under control (not sure why, but a couple people were near fist fights during the concert!). While I didn't enjoy that, the rest of the concerts were amazing! I'm already counting down the days till DP 2013!!!!

What I Wear-Being Myself!

I'm wearing: Striped Hollister Shirt-Thrifted ($2.99), Green No Boundaries Skirt-Thrifted ($3.99) White Vanity Tank-$5 Owl Necklace-hand me down
So I think I've finally nailed down my "clothing issues". I've been dressing for other people! I wasn't getting dressed in the morning for me, I was looking for a cute outfit other people would like! How insane is that?! Instead of doing what I always talk about (dressing to glorify God), I was trying to be something I'm not. I'll never be the best dressed, most fashionable, or the best fashion blogger. I can, however, be the best me. I think I was trying to emulate other people too much-simply because I admired their style. For instance, I love how other people look in high heels, but I'm a boots and flip flops girl! So, this morning I dressed like: me. I paired a casual striped shirt with a casual green skirt. Nothing fancy, but it suits me. I feel comfortable in this outfit! Maybe it's not your style, maybe it is. Take it from me-be yourself! If you try to be someone else, you'll just end up being a second rate _______(insert name) instead of a first rate you!

What I Wear-Earth Tones And An Owl

I'm Wearing: Brown Skirt-Gift (Maurices brand), Army Green Shirt-Thrifted $2.99, Gladiator Sandals-Payless ($?) Owl necklace (hand me down)

I can't believe that DownPour is next week! I'm so excited, I have so much fun every year! It's totally worth braving the chance of rain and cold weather! I'm very into music, love, love, love it! I could literally listen to music all day and not get sick of it. I also love playing music, which kind of goes hand-in-hand.

I'm wearing my trusty brown skirt which I wore HERE and HERE.  It's a super versatile skirt, I actually got it as a gift! Free too, how can you not like this skirt?!

I did Sunday school this week at church, I was reading the Bible story about Adam and Eve and one of the little boys (I think he's 3 or 4) "Tasha, why did Eve eat the apple?! God told her no!" Too cute! I know lots of people don't like doing Sunday School (for whatever reason), but I don't mind. I've always enjoyed kids! I was the girl who played with dolls till she was 13-I'm not even sure most girls play with dolls anymore! I used to be obsessed with my baby dolls-even had a pretend husband (his name was Thomas Brown) I bossed around! : ) Although I went by Nicole Brown back then...yes. Strange but true. And now I have no idea how I got on this subject, is this TMI?! Okay, now that I've said a ton, but not really anything and talked in circles...

What I Wear-Bermuda Shorts And Messy Ponytail!

What I Wear: Purple Shirt-Thrifted, Khaki Shorts-Thrifted, Necklace-Homemade, Flip Flops-Old Navy
In a continuing spirit of honesty, I'm sharing a "casual Wednesday" outfit with you! (Note: if a Blogger names an outfit post something like "casual Wednesday" it's just a sneaky way of making something dull and mundane seem amazing!) I'm afraid I am one of those Bloggers who likes to only put up perfect pictures-not exactly reality! So I decided not to even fix my hair! (Shocking, I know right?) In order to not completely ditch fashion, I paired the simple Aeropostale shirt with a necklace. These khaki shorts were a great buy, they go with practically everything and are super modest (in my opinion). They fit loosely, which is nice for in the heat. I don't know about the rest of you, but personally this Montana girls is melting! Where's the snow when you need it! *GRIN* Unfortunately, right now it's super smokey outside (leading to itchy, stinging eyes, being irritable, head ache, etc.) I've discovered that I'm super sensitive to the smoke-I'll wake up with a super bad headache hours before anyone can see or smell smoke. Anyone else this way?
Post a pic with messy hair....I dare you. ; )

What I Wear-Fashion Burnout

Finally captured one of the seemingly 100's of butterflies in our yard!

I'm Wearing: Purple Shirt-Thrifted, White Scarf-Vanity, Blue Jean Skirt-Thrifted, Flip Flops-Old Navy
In the spirit of honesty, I feel I must share that I had a horrendous time of getting dressed this morning! I'm having a very hard time fighting the urge to just pull on a pair of shorts and a tee-shirt-and I'm not entirely sure why. Perhaps it's the heat, but I'm all out of inspiration! Every shirt I pulled on fit funny, or they didn't go with that skirt, or that skirt looked weird with this shirt....*collapses on floor* Anyway, I've come to the conclusion that I'm trying way too hard. I'm also going to purge my closet when I get done here. I have way too many things I don't wear, or things that don't fit! I'm also going to try to put together some outfits-hopefully. That last part is probably a fantasy...
I'm also frustrated by the fact that so many of you lovely Blogger ladies seem to effortlessly put on adorable outfits, seemingly every day! Does it come naturally to you, or are there days when you just feel like sitting in your PJs all day? I truly want to post every day, but who wants to see someone wearing shorts and a tee-shirt on her blog every day? So...that's me being honest! I've got fashion burnout....major.
