Our church sponsored a Russian Christian band Spasenie last week. The day of the concert, they found out that the Russian government had passed a law that, if you protested the government, the KGB had the right to shoot you on sight. It made me think about how lucky I am to live in America! I have the freedom to protest the government if I wish. I have the right to speak out on issues that other people can't. You can argue all you want, but we're lucky to live in America. Will we always have the freedoms we have now? Maybe not. Enjoy them while you have them, they're God given rights! Instead of complaining that you don't have the latest clothes, think about the freedom you have to wear the clothes you want to wear! I'm grateful to God that I can even speak on this subject, not everyone can. I'm thankful I can speak about God, and modesty, with no fear.
"For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another." Galatians 5:13
Very cute! You should post the outfit you wore yesterday, I didn't get a chance to tell you, but you looked awesome! Excited for Friday :)
ReplyDeletegood point! It's definitely important to keep the people in these situations in our prayers, and also pray that our own freedoms are not taken away.
ReplyDeleteI love that verse, too!
