What I Wear-Weight Lifting And Resistance Training

 I'm Wearing: Hat-Borrowed from my sister Patience, Shirt-Thrifted, Skirt-Thrifted

So I managed to smoosh an outfit post into the day! Thanks for all the advice on packing Summer clothes away! So pretty much I did just pack away my shorts and a couple shirts I probably won't wear during Winter and colder seasons. But honestly, I'm a little ashamed to say that my wardrobe is now busting at the seams! Literally, no exaggeration, I can't fit a single hanger in anywhere! I did get rid of a few pieces, but not enough to make a dent. I have this emotional attachment to my clothes-every piece makes me hesitate. Here's a glimpse of what goes on in my head while deciding on getting rid of something:
Takes piece of clothing off hanger. "Oh! That's kinda ugly, I haven't worn it in almost a year..." Stick it in the thrift store/leaving bag. Ten seconds later: "But...I could wear it with that _____, or maybe this....NO! I need to get rid of it. Good bye sweet friend....Or...."
Something like that! LOL! ; )

Since most of you said "yes" to the Fitness tips, I'm sharing a bit today about weight lifting/resistance training.
I'm currently doing a hybrid Turbo Fire and ChaLEAN Extreme for exercise. Lately I've been wondering why I'm doing it! The backs of my thighs were so soar this week from doing weight lifting (don't freak out, it's more like resistance training) that they were actually soar to the touch, like: Ow! You brushed my leg I'm gonna kill you!!! But I think it's definitely worth it, I can see changes in my body and how I feel (aside from the soarness) I also get sick far less than I used to.

Anyway...my reason for bringing this randomly into this post-weights do NOT bulk ladies up. I used to think that girls who weight lift got those disgusting huge muscles that made them look like guys-not the case at all! Since starting the weight lifting/resistance training I've learned why that is. Guys have testosterone, which is why they can make huge muscles. Girls have estrogen, causing them to get smaller as a result of weight lifting! Now, you're asking about those ladies you've seen with the huge muscles. #1, they are on steroids. #2, they workout 24/7 (even then it would be very hard!). Most likely it's #1. Resistance/weight lifting is really good for you! It makes your bones stronger, you stronger, makes your cardio more effective (a pound of muscle burns 5X more fat as a pound of muscle!), gives you better balance and a whole bunch more benefits than I can list here in one post. I'm only up to 12 pounds (15 is probably as high as I'll go, since I can maintain this much) but considering 5 pounds used to kill me...
It's also important to remember to stick with a number you can maintain, because if you don't, you will lose your muscle, and....you know....the muscle will...ooze? ; ) Anyone have any questions? Are you doing any resistance/weight training?

  1. I love your skirt! I've been looking for one like that for ages. :P

And I never knew that about weight lifting! Now I think I may pull out my mom's medicine balls again and work with those. But first...my room has to be organized to the point where I can work out in it again. :P

Oh! And in response to your question about Doctor Who, one of the reasons I enjoy the show so much is that there's not much "objectionable" content...it's usually pretty clean language-wise, and I can't remember any sexual content...a few kissing scenes, and a few more mature themes (a couple of episodes with references to homosexuality) and little comments, but that's about all (I can't remember anything else). I watch a lot of the episodes with my younger sisters, and the only reason I wouldn't necessarily watch certain ones with them is that they can be quite scary.
Anyway! It's one of my favorite shows, and I do recommend it to anyone who likes sci-fi. My sisters and I enjoy watching it often, and unlike most shows, I can watch episodes over and over!(:
