What I Wear-I Love...

I've been wondering lately why it's so hard for us to praise ourselves! God made us so amazingly intricate, yet we're constantly putting His creation (us) down. Our hair isn't straight enough, our eyes aren't blue enough, we don't have model looks or milky complexions. But guess what? We each have something about us that makes us uniquely beautiful. I'm not saying we should run around talking about how wonderful we are, or being arrogant every time we look in the mirror! Just appreciating the fact that God made a beautiful creation when He thought you up. I don't imagine it could feel very good for God to constantly hear His creation criticizing itself!

I'm Wearing: Cropped Black Shrug-Forever 21 ($7), Red Shirt-Forever 21 ($2), Blue Jean Skirt-Thirfted ($3.99), Scarf-Claire's ($4) Boots-Vanity ($10)
So instead I have a challenge-I double dog dare you to leave a comment with two things you love about yourself physically and two things you love about yourself in terms of character traits-go ahead!

Here I go: I love my hair and dark eye lashes. I also love that I'm loyal and easy going.

"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them." Psalm 139:13-16

Two things I love about myself physically are my eyes and my ears(yup lol). Two things I like about myself in terms of my character are, I am kind and non-judgmental. Well, that was fun!!! :)

  3. Cute! I love the color combination!
Hmm...it's a bit hard to come up with things I like about myself when I'm all achy from this silly cold, but I like my eyes and my hair (haha, I think that's what you said too!) and I'm thankful for an intelligent mind and the ability to listen (I almost said a sympathetic nature, but I tend to be a cynic, soooo that's something I have to work on).

Hope you're having a great week!

  4. Cute outfit - love the scarf. =)
And I totally agree with you. We should praise ourselves for HIS pleasure and benefit (as well as ourselves). Because if we do it with the right motives then we're bringing glory to Him instead of to ourselves. =) I would say the two things I love about my physical looks are my long hair and my smooth skin. For my character traits I love that I'm joyful and encouraging. Lol, it feels weird to be saying that I love those things about me, but it also feels really good. =) Thanks for the challenge!

  6. I think this is one of my favorite outfits on you. Love the scarf. Yes, you are right. I am having a hard time thinking what I like about myself. I will say that I like my eybrows and my hair, and I am organized and a loving mommy.

  8. Gah! What a challenge... :-P Erm... I like the eyes and hair color God gave me. :-) I like that He gave me a sense of the need to encourage others and a strong desire for what is fair, right, and just.

Really cute outfit, by the way! Also, thank you for your comment. If not in this life, maybe in heaven we can sit down over a cup of coffee and chat. ;-)

    God bless!

  10. Definitely something to think about, Natasha. For me, I love my hair,(except when it's being difficult:). I couldn't imagine having short hair! I think that my hair is a wonderful feminine attribute, and I'm so thankful for it! I also love my eyes. They are green/brown/grayish. Very descriptive, I know:D Personality wise, I love that I am an encourager and I love to give gifts to people.
    Have a great day!

  11. I love my eyes. The are a very unusual color, but pretty. I get compliments on them a lot. I also love my freckles. ;) This is a GREAT post. It feels so good to say good things about yourself without people thinking your being arrogant.

  13. Hi Natasha! Loved this post--it's so true that we tend to put ourselves down too often. It's difficult, too, because confidence can SO easily be mistaken for arrogance (I learned that the sad way.) Hmmm...well, I love my hourglass figure, and I'm not sure if this counts as physical, and I hate praising myself about it, but I can SING. There, I said it :) As far as personality goes, I've been told that I'm very inclusive with my junior high small group girls, which just melts my heart because I was the outcast result of leadership favoritism in youth group. So I definitely love that I've achieved that. I also love that I'm future-thinking and make choices with the future in mind instead of just the temporary satisfaction of here and now.
Sorry for the novel, hope you are doing well!
    Blessings,
    Hannah =)

Here are a few comment guidelines:
This is an open discussion, being so, I'm open to other people's opinions! However, please keep the discussion nice and if you'd like to critique something, please do it tactfully! I.E-instead of "I hate that outfit!" putting, "I think the outfit is a bit miss matched, however I like ___."
Your comments are so appreciated-you rock!
