Life Before Prince Charming And My Kate Middleton Skirt

 I'm wearing: shirt-Target $7// plaid Kate Middleton style skirt-thrifted hand me down $3.99// black riding boots-Herbergers $37

So I've been thinking about how a lot of girls want Prince Charming to rescue them from....themselves. Simply because one gets married doesn't mean that character flaw is suddenly gone. Yes, marriage can serve to grow both of you, but probably in the same ways you needed growing before marriage.

So instead of sitting around, wistfully waiting for a perfect guy (who by the way doesn't exist), how about working on those issues God placed on your heart? I.E. Loving your siblings, being content, waiting patiently (insert your personal issue)

It's very easy to get into the mind set of: my life will start when Mr. Darcy enters the dance floor. The reality? Elizabeth Bennett was living her life way before that.

So, what am I saying? Don't let a guy become your focus in life. I KNOW God has something for you to do right now, right here, in this moment.
So what is it?

  1. Cute outfit! I love that skirt!
And I totally agree with you...it's really easy to waste time and energy dreaming of that "perfect guy"! The best advice I can give is to be patient, pray, and "wait on the Lord", and whatever (or whomever!) God sends your way will be quite amazing. :)

  2. Hi Natasha,

I LOVE your skirt! It's adorable. You are very right--life begins long before a man enters it, and those who are waiting need to be living life and becoming mature adults. Because as far as I see it, you're not ready for a relationship until you are secure in who you are as a person and in Christ. I waited until I was nearly 20 to have any kind of relationship, and it has been such a blessing in the long run!

    Blessings,
    Hannah

  3. Hey Natasha!

You really put together an adorable outfit. Love it from head to toe! I can't believe y'all thrifted that skirt for only $3.99! Amazing! I definitely don't have that much luck when I go thrift shopping! :P

  4. Very, very true. As a married gal I can promise you single ladies that your own issues, character flaws, and areas in need of growth do NOT disappear when you say "I do". If anything, they become more obvious as you live in close-quarters with another flawed human being.
So yes, look forward to being married! That's okay... but don't live your life on "pause" until you become a "Mrs.". Every day matters, single or not!

    Good thoughts, Natasha.
    Blessings!

  5. Great post! Love that skirt, but your thoughts on waiting for your Prince Charming are really important here. We shouldn't be dreaming of the perfect guy because we know that God will find the best match for us. Now I know that I should be working on personal issues instead of dreaming of some you who I probably won't meet for a long time. Thanks!

This is an open discussion, being so, I'm open to other people's opinions! However, please keep the discussion nice and if you'd like to critique something, please do it tactfully! I.E-instead of "I hate that outfit!" putting, "I think the outfit is a bit miss matched, however I like ___."
