What I Wear- Casual Tuesday & Freedom

1 comment:
Today I feel grateful. Grateful that I can even write this blog post. Grateful that I can talk about God on my blog, and not be put into prison for it. Blessed to live in America! No, America isn't perfect. In fact we have some serious issues. But we have the freedom to have those issues! We have the freedom to tell people what we're thinking. No one can tell me not to dress in these clothes, and nobody can tell you to stop reading my blog! Not every country has these freedoms, these blessings.

I think with all the economic stuff going on, we've forgotten what a wonderful country we live in. We may not be happy when congress or the president does something that goes against what we wanted, but we have the freedom to step out and say "Hey! I don't like that!" But with that freedom, comes abuse and un-gratefulness. We forget all the men and women who have died so that we could have that freedom. Did they die in vain? No! They died so that I could talk about God. If those men hadn't fought in WWII, Germany could have taken over the world. If men hadn't died freeing us from the King of England, we wouldn't have the freedom to go or not go to whatever church we choose.
I know beyond a shadow of doubt that God was in all of that. And He's in America now. It may take some time to wake everyone up, but it's going to happen. God's not done with us. Will America be around for billions more years? I have no idea. What I do know is that God will never leave His people, regardless of how many times we've slapped Him in the face. He's still holding out His hand of mercy.
End of speech. : )

I'm wearing: Pink cardigan Herbegers (original price $58! My price-$8!) Purple Thrifted dress $3.99 Jeggings Kmart $3

QUESTION:
What freedom are you most thankful for? I'm most thankful for freedom of speech.

What I Wear-Cappuro Customs Heaband And A Poem

This headband was graciously provided to me by: ERIN! Thank you! The headband is lovely, and made very well. I look forward to wearing it many more times! Sorry for the delay in posting it!
Check out Erin's Other items! Sorry for the wet hair-again!

                                                                             Mirror
Looking in the mirror, not anything she thought she'd be.
Mirror reflects the flaws back at her.
No perfect super model nose.
Less than lovely tresses.
Eyes don't seem to glow as they should.
Slightly crooked teeth.
Too small a chest.
Too large a waist.
Feet too big.

Applying the mask, she hides behind the foundation.
Slathers on the shadow, so dark you can't see her eyes.
Working at the gym, she sweats for hours.
Mirror on the wall, still telling her she's not good enough.
Now she's on her knees.
Tears washing away the mask.

Headband close-up

God
Looking in HIS eyes, she can see the truth.
It's flaws the world inflicts.
Her nose, perfectly shaped to fit her face.
Every hair on her head is counted.
Her eyes reflect love for her Savior.
Her teeth are beautiful as they smile to her Jesus.
Tears wash away the mask, revealing inner beauty.
Majestic, masterpiece, beautifully crafted.
These are the words to describe her.
A heart of gold.
Smile that lights the universe.
A deep passionate love to consumer her.
Perfect in the world's eyes?
No.
Perfect in God's eyes?
Yes!
HE's perfectly incandescently in love with you.
You need only accept HIM.
Beautiful, perfect daughter of the KING of KINGS.
YOU!

What I Wear- White Again And Peacock Feather Earrings

Yes, I'm wearing white...again. But it is a different shirt! Plus I'm wearing "real" earrings again! Awhile back they got pussy and irritated and I had to stop wearing my earrings till the healed up.

I've been very bad, I haven't exercised regularly like I should. It's so hot that it's hard to get my lazy bones downstairs and do Turbo Jam. I always feel so much better after I exercise, I don't know why I keep putting it off! So I'm going to force myself to go down tonight!

My mom and I have decided it's time to start thinking about Winter. Yep. It's almost that time. Sorry to burst every one's Summer, but it starts getting cold in Montana here pretty soon! I find myself dreading the Winter, and snow. So, I've decided that if I get some new Winter clothes maybe Winter won't be dreaded so much. I also need to get some new Winter shoes, because the Emu boots I've worn for the past 3 years are starting to get slightly...worn out...and not nearly as warm as they were at first. I also need to get my Mary Jane button sewed back on before this Fall. Am I depressing anyone with my Fall/Winter talk? I'm depressing myself...but I'm determined to enjoy Winter this time.

I really want to make a fur purse! I'm going to try to get my mom to take me to Joann's today and pick up some fur fabric to make one. And now that I've jabbered on with absolutely no purpose, 'voila! A post.

Hey I'm back! Back from where? DownPour Festival 2011! YEAH! I'm obsessed with music, so concerts are a blast for me. I like to be close to the stage, but not too close. I also like to be amidst the "crazy people" I do all the hand things and jumping. Too fun! Seriously, this concert is something I look forward to every year. The best part? Disciple was there and had an alter call (where they ask if people want to accept Christ) and just in my line of view in front of me, 50 people raised their hands! 50!! That doesn't include all the people I couldn't see in the dark, or the ones behind me! God really used the concert in a mighty way to reach people. The next night, 20+ people accepted Christ after the David Crowder Band alter call! You can see photos of my weekend later this week on THIS BLOG.

The bad part of the concert? I was jumping and moving so much during the concert that my whole body-especially legs-hurt like crazy! But it was totally worth it. On the way home, I found myself thinking-who are they bringing next year?! LOL! Anyway, so yeah I was at a Christian concert for two days. And it's only Tuesday, so I haven't done anything else. I'm going to try to get a few posts in this week, don't forget to link up to Feminine Friday! There are only a few people linked up right now, so link up! You could be this coming Feminine Friday's winner!

I'm wearing: A White Hanes Shirt thrifted ($3) Blue Jean Skirt ($3) Necklace Forever 21 (Free with gift card)

My favorite bands I saw in concert:
David Crowder Band, Press Play and Kerrie Roberts.

What is your favorite concert you've been to?

What I Wear-Hummingbird Shirt And God Esteem

10 comments:
I assume most of you have heard the term "low self esteem"? We throw it around flippantly, until it no longer has a true meaning. Low self esteem is a stamp we put on people-"Oh, poor girl. She's always had such low self esteem." But I want to pose a question to you: have you ever really thought about what 'low self esteem' actually means? To be honest, I have very little desire to have self esteem. As a Christian, I strive to have what I call God esteem. Instead of seeing myself as important and worthy of every good thing in life, I turn to God to define me.

Break down the words: self. Esteem. Hmm...sounds slightly prideful and selfish, eh? Self esteem is a word that the secular community invented for their own selfish gain! "In order to have good self esteem, your daughter needs to have all the latest clothes, do whatever she wants, have a good figure...." And the list goes on and on. Wouldn't it be much easier just to come out with the truth? We have no worth without our Savior! He defines me. He tells me I'm beautiful (bible verse). He's the only one who loves me eternally. How many people can say they have a "guy" who will love them wether or not they have crossed eyes, or sky blue eyes lined with lush dark lashes? I can! can you?

However their is a catch. Having God esteem does mean you have to accept who you are. God made you perfect-perfect by the worlds standards? No. Perfect by His standards? Yes! I read somewhere (wish I could remember where) that by looking in the mirror and thinking of all the things we wish we could change, we're actually slapping God in the face! It's like saying: "Hey God, I really hate the way you made me. It was really dumb to give me...(insert physical "Flaw")" When God is looking down on you with loving eyes, perfect in each and every way in His eyes.
Instead of striving to have the latest clothes, the perfect figure etc. strive to grow closer to Jesus. It doesn't matter how you look, how shy you are, how crazy others may think you are: JESUS LOVES YOU! You could've led the most awful life, and have a face like a bull dog, JESUE LOVES YOU! You are His perfect beautiful Princess. Divinely beautiful, breathtakingly gorgeous, stunningly graceful. JESUS LOVES YOU!

Colorado Springs, CO Trip Part 2 WARNING-PICTURE LADEN POST!

5 comments:
So this is slightly delayed! You can see part 1 HERE. But last month I visited my grandparents, aunt and uncle, brother and new sister in law in Colordo Springs. While there, I decided to be a dork in the mall and try on these adroable, yet crazy, hats in the Burlington Coat Factory! I have no idea where people would wear these, but they sell them! Great photo opportunity anyway! All the pictures can be enlarged by clicking on them if you'd like to.

My sister Patience

This one is totally my fair lady!

Are these hats totally my fair lady/royal wedding, or what?! I so totally would've been invited to the royal wedding had I found these hats earlier! GRIN just joking, I'm not a royal wedding groupy or anything like that. In fact I only saw the first half...weddings are long and boring. Don't judge me! You know it's true! Which one's your favorite?
