What I Wear- Fur Boots Debut!

6 comments:
On this, a momentous occasion, I'm delighted to welcome you to my blog. What is this momentous occasion, you ask? The debut of my fur boots! Their "coming out party" if you will. *Chuckle* ah, yes! I amaze myself with my skills in witty words. Of course, that's why you come to my blog, right?! Hello...? Is anyone there? Hellllllloooo...? And for those of you who are still here, even after that awkward silence.

No, but seriously. I'm in love with these boots! They're so cute and I think of about a thousand more outfits they'll go with! You'll also notice that I've whipped out my long sleeves. I'm very excited about the fur trend this season. How about you?

What I Wear- 40's Style Dress With Peach Skirt & Modesty Temptation

"No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."  1 Corinthians 10:13
I'm going to start this post of with an ever shocking detail- I'm not perfect! Umm..okay..so it's not that shocking! It's actually common knowledge when I think about it. I have a question I want to pose to you-have you ever been tempted? How about tempted to dress in a manner that isn't so modest? I know I have. I think we make a choice every time we enter the closet to look at our wardrobes. Maybe this morning you were tempted to put on that skirt you know is too short. But you didn't. Is it a sin to be tempted? The answer-no! The temptation itself isn't a sin, it's acting on the temptation that is sinful.
"Opportunity make knock only once, but temptation leans on the doorbell." Author Unknown

When we dress in a manner that isn't pleasing to God, we cause guys to be tempted. Do we want someone to sin, just so we can wear that less than modest item? Is it worth it? Yes, you might get a bit more attention. But is it the right kind of attention? Take for instance my outfit today. By my standards, this outfit wouldn't be appropriate without a skirt underneath. I feel the hemline would be way too short. Thus I make the decision to put a skirt under my dress every time I wear it.
Shocking detail number 2, modest dress doesn't end when you marry! Just because you have a ring on your finger, doesn't mean your any less of a temptation for guys! So next time your in "modesty temptation" make the extra effort to dress modestly. If we practice to dress modestly now, it won't be nearly as hard when we're older, or married, to dress modestly. To all of the ladies out their in blog world striving to dress in a modest manner- THANK YOU! You rock!

What I Wear- Turquoise And Laziness

3 comments:

There's nothing more repulsive to me than a lazy person! And unfortunately, I have tendencies towards laziness. It's a constant battle between laziness and working. I was just talking with a friends yesterday about how much I enjoy a clean room. However, right now my room is a pig-sty (It's my goal today to super clean). Why don't I clean it? Laziness! How much time does it take to just put away that shirt, instead of leaving it lying on the floor?!

Laziness can extend to all areas of our lives. If not kept under control, it can control you. It can become a God that you serve. Seriously, that's not an exaggeration. Laziness can keep you from all sorts of things, work, fun, church and people you love. All of which have devastating consequences, physical, emotional and spiritual. When we place something above the others, we're singling it out as more important. So if you decide to work instead of play with your kids, your putting work ahead of family. If you decide to sleep in, instead of going to church, you're putting sleep ahead of God. If you decide to stay home because your "under the weather", instead of going to work, your putting yourself before work. We all have responsibilities we need to carry out. And if we don't decide now what is and is not important-such as whether or not to sit around being lazy, or go to work-laziness will control you. Don't let anything have that control on you! Laziness doesn't deserve respect! It deserves a good kick in the pants out the door.

So instead of sitting her like a lazy Blogger, I'm going to go clean my room!

How about you? What are you doing today to curb laziness?

What I Wear- Purple With Polka Dots

 Dear Mademoiselles,
I'm positive that every one of you lovely ladies has been sitting at your computer just waiting for me to post my outfit! Okay, a few of you? One or two? No one...? Okay...wow! That was depressing...really? No one?! Well perhaps a few of you may be interested in my outfit anyway. I've been trying to 'revamp' my website. By revamping, I mean I'm thinking of re-doing the layout-yes again. I'd like more of a "fashion-y vintage" feel. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I've been considering sketching something for the header, I'm just not sure what yet.

Check out my fake-y Montana background! It's even more green and lush than it looks in the pictures! I sigh deeply every time I look out the window, so beautiful!

I'm Wearing: Purple Shirt From Vanity, White Scarf From Vanity, Thrifted Purple With Polka Dots Skirt.

As most of you may have guessed, flip flops are my Summer staple. I rarely wear anything else! I run around barefoot all year long, and flip flops are like being barefoot! Which is awesome, since I wouldn't go barefoot into a store. Though I may wish to sometimes. Want to know an irratation for me? SOCKS! I hate them! I wear my flip flops and sandals as long as I can, even when it gets a bit chilly. Simply because I don't like socks...or shoes for that matter. My feet always feel constricted! I'm sure everyone has those "things" they immensley dislike. Mine would be socks, and artificial watermelon!

What's your "thing" you immensley dislike?

What I Wear-Modest Cyber Fashion Show Day 3

5 comments:
Watching the days fly by, it's day 3 already of the Modest Cyber Fashion Show! I've been contimplating doing some sort of link-up monthly. Would anyone be interested in that? I was thinking of something like "Style a Mini skirt modestly" or something like that, where girls can pick something that's not modest, and turn it into something that is modest! Any thoughts?

I'd really like to do something that everyone would enjoy, so please don't hesitate to share what your thinking.

I picked this skirt up in Colorado Springs as well! Although it's a bit too short, so I added a tiered skirt of almost the same shade. Thought not quite. I just couldn't pass the skirt up. I'm thinking of maybe sewing a ruffled to the hem (black?). I'm starting to get back into my "sewing faze" I keep thinking of things I want to sew! So I'm sure you'll be seeing some projects soon!

QUESTION: What kind of monthly link-up would you like to participate in?

What I Wear Day 2- Modest Cyber Fashion Show

This is my outfit for day 2 of the Cyber Modest Fashion Show! I went with simple, yet feminine. I recently purchased this Jcrew brand blue jean skirt at a thrift shop for $3.99! In my opinion, there's nothing more versatile than the blue jean skirt.Feminine, comfortable and my go to skirt! I know most of you feel the same.
I'm still very behind in my blogging, so here is a catch up for you:
I was interviewed over at Bellabusta! And A World Of Loveliness wrote the sweetest thing about my blog! I'm still blown away every time someone asks to interview me, or writes about my blog with obvious warm feelings! I'm so incredibly blessed to be able to share my thoughts and clothing choices with so many girls, as well as impact their lives! You girls (and ladies!) make the frustrations of Blogger's Block worth it!

What I Wear- To Spokane WA

5 comments:
So this weekend my family and I visited Spokane WA. I'd like to confess: I'm not a party animal! By day two, I was already ready to go home! But it was fun, I just enjoy my bed too much I suppose. I was able to spend very little between Christmas money I'd saved, and gift cards I'd collected!

Among the gift cards I had collected, were Forever 21 gift cards! I had $40 worth, but only spent about $25 and some change. So I'll be spending the rest online. Funny thing is, I didn't really enjoy the store. The music was suuuuper loud, and sort of entrancing! I'm not joking! I seriously saw like 4 ladies that looked like zombies-including my sister. I don't know what it is, but I can't think in that store! Apparently no one else can either! I had a couple ladies bump into me and have that 'zombie' look in their eyes and excused themselves. Weird...But that would be why the online store is a little better for me to think. No music! Unless of course I crank up the music of my own accord! *GRIN* Which I tend to do on..occasion.

And here I am showing off my photographic abilities on my sisters!

What I Wear- "The Rain In Spain, Stays Mainly In The Plains..."

13 comments:
Hey everyone! I found this shirt a while back. It has Audrey Hepburn on the front! How cool is that?! I didn't even know they made Audrey Hepburn tee shirts! Sorry ladies, but I'm in a maxi dress...again. It's just so darn comfy! I can't help myself. Plus, grey and black, what other colors are that versatile? Plus, I'm wearing an Audrey Hepburn tee shirt, and the maxi dress screams 'Audrey!' No? And yes, I'm on a first name basis with the famous actress-who also happens to be dead by the way.

I'm trying to figure out what exactly I need in my closet to stretch the amount of outfit mixes. My conclusion?
  1. Versatile Skirt-goes with everything and doesn't need any particular colored shirt to go with it.
  2. A White Shirt-that fits good and isn't too sheer (I guess that's almost impossible)
  3. Plain shirts that fit well.
  4. ? This is where you come in! Tell me an essential item!
I think I should tell you, I'm not being creative with my hair...it's just greasy! Sorry to disappoint you!

Ever heard of Tea Tree oil? I hope so! I've been using it faithfully, and not picking my pimples, and their starting to finally clear up! Here are some things I've learned-if you struggling with acne that is-that might help you:
  • Don't pick 'em! It takes 2-3 times longer for the pimple to go away if you pick it.
  • Toothpaste works short term. Toothpaste may make the pimple smaller, but the next day it will be red and irritated (I'm guessing from something in the toothpaste, mint scent perhaps?)
  • Wash morning and evening! This really helps, but be faithful about it!
  • Apply diluted tea tree oil to your acne prone areas with a cotton ball.
  • HYDRATE! This is the most important of them all! It seems nutty, but if I don't put lotion on my face after washing, it gets super red! It never feels dry, and it doesn't look dry, but it super..super..super..super red! So ALWAYS use lotion on your face.
  • Natural. This one is just a personal thing, I don't like to use chemical laden things on my face. I use Kiss My Face, and Alba. Yes, they're sort of expensive, but I found this website that has a bunch of natural stuff that is at a discounted price! Check out the website here: Vita Cost  By the way-and I need to buy some more-the day after (I'm not joking!) I used the Kiss my face lotion and face wash, my forehead was completely clear of pimples! They weren't very large, but still! I was impressed.
  • Alba Face And Body Wash- this stuff is awesome! It cleared up the acne I had on my shoulders!
  • Disclaimer: I'm not getting any money for telling you about this product, so don't worry about it being a lie. It may not work for you, but it DID work for me! : )

These are not enhanced photos! The trees are seriously that green right now! It's been raining, snowing (not in a while) and the trees are surreal! It's lovely to look outside my window and see the vivid green tree tops, the dewy grass and dark wet bark.

Once again, I'm trying very hard to be creative with my outfits. I'm trying to go for "simple" in this outfit.

What I'm wearing: White long sleeve Wal Mart shirt ($7) Grey Slacks Target ($12) Military style flats Payless ($8)

So...ready for the end of the world? I am! But I don't think God's coming back today. Want to know why I think that?
"But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only." Matthew 24:36
So I am ready to go, but I'm not listening to some person tell me they know the day that God's coming back. Why? Because the Bible says that nobody knows! So the moral of this? Be ready at any time, not just when you think God might come back. Are you ready to go?

What I Wear- Summer Turquoise

8 comments:

Hey everyone! I tried very hard to make a decent outfit today-you better appreciate it! From now on I'm going to try to be more creative with my outfits, but it's hard! Summer rolls around and you can't add that special 'pop' of color with a cardigan anymore. It's pretty chilly today (no snow though!) so I was able to add my leather jacket. I think my new strategy will be to use jewelry! That always helps, I'm just too lazy most of the time to wear any. I even forgot my purity ring today!

Please forgive the photos, I'm really not going for an 80's look! The wind whipped up and made my bangs and hair look odd.

I picked up this belt (and another) on my birthday. They were $9 each, which isn't bad. But I sort of splurged. But I did need a new one, my last one literally fell apart! I'm not joking, I woke up and found it lying on the floor, it's sad little leather strap broken.

I'm wearing:
Black leather jacket Wal Mart ($5) Floral tank top Wal Mart ($1) Turquoise maxi dress Ross($15)

Natasha's 17th Birthday!

Me, my younger brother, and younger sister

So ladies, I need to tell you something...I'm old! I had a great birthday, and thank you all for the birthday wishes! I'll have more later about what I did, but for now I'll post pictures-includes pictures of other people this time, its not ALL about me! Oh wait...it is! *GRIN* Joking!

Do I look any older than when I was 16?

Oh, and sorry for the lame outfit! It looks better in real life! Don't you just hate when you take pictures of what you think is a cute outfit, and then get home and upload pictures only to find that the outfit stinks?
Oh, and as a sneak peak I got something really cool for my birthday from my mom and dad! Vintage hairstyle books! Yay me!
